Tariffs and Taxes:
Shipping to Venezuela does not have an exemption threshold (“de minimis”) as in other countries. Currently, recipients can receive packages with a limited declared value before taxes are applied, according to SENIAT rules. For higher values or shipments exceeding 30 kilograms, import tariffs are applied, calculated based on the type of product, its tariff classification and the declared value. Taxes are calculated in digital bolivars (VES) in accordance with the current tariff table published by the SENIAT and may include the Value Added Tax (VAT) on imports.
Packages from the European Union and other countries:
Venezuela is not part of trade agreements such as the DR-CAFTA. However, it maintains bilateral agreements with MERCOSUR countries and some Latin American nations. In general, shipments from the European Union, United States or other origins are subject to the same import procedures, with the application of tariffs, taxes and health controls depending on the product category.
Payment of Tariffs: The recipient in Venezuela is responsible for paying the corresponding duties and taxes in local currency. Payment is made directly before SENIAT or at the designated Post Office of Venezuela office, before the package is released. The amount is calculated based on the CIF value (Cost + Insurance + Freight) declared on the commercial invoice.

Release Procedures: Once the fees are paid and the required documentation is presented, the SENIAT will release the package, which will then be delivered to the recipient at the corresponding Post Office of Venezuela or through the assigned courier.
Package Tracking: You can track your shipment at all times using the tracking number provided by the international carrier and subsequently through the Venezuela Post Office system once the package enters the country.
Possible Delays: Customs processes in Venezuela usually be thorough and may cause delays if the package requires additional review, special permissions, or contains restricted items. Factors such as health inspections or currency control can also extend delivery times.

Items prohibited by Venezuelan laws or international agreements cannot be sent. This includes illegal drugs, explosives, flammable or toxic materials, weapons and ammunition (including replicas), pornographic materials, cash, counterfeit products, and animals or plants protected without the corresponding permits from the Ministry of Popular Power for Ecosocialism (MINEC), INPARQUES or CITES.
Yes. All packages entering Venezuela must have a detailed description of their contents, including product type, quantity, brand and model. The actual value must also be declared on the commercial invoice. Declaring false or incomplete values may cause fines, withholdings or confiscations by the SENIAT.
If your package contains restricted items, the SENIAT will request additional permits or certificates before its release. This may include health records from the Ministry of Popular Power for Health, permits from INSA Ior authorizations from MINEC. If the necessary documentation is not presented, the package may be detained or returned to the country of origin.
In addition to the shipping cost, import tariffs and internal taxes determined by the SENIAT are applied, calculated according to the type of product and the CIF value (Cost + Insurance + Freight). Import VAT may also apply, and in some cases, administrative fees for storage or inspection.
The average delivery time is 10 to 20 business days, depending on the origin of the shipment and the carrier. However, customs processes may extend the deadline if the package requires additional inspection or special permits.
If your package is detained, the SENIAT will notify the recipient or the international courier. You must present the commercial invoice, identification document and any additional permits or certificates required. Once the requirements have been completed and the corresponding taxes paid, the package will be released for delivery.
You can track your shipment using the international carrier's tracking number. Once the package enters Venezuela, you can continue tracking it through the Venezuela Post Office system or through the platform of the private courier used.
