Why no sales tax? The Delaware advantage
In the US, the price on the website doesn't include sales tax. It's added at checkout based on the delivery state, and in most states it's between 5% and 10%. Delaware has no sales tax (like New Hampshire, Oregon and Montana), so if the store delivers to our Delaware warehouse, you pay exactly the advertised price. On an iPhone Duo, that's up to 200 USD less. We explain it in detail in how to shop in the US with no sales tax.
Before buying your iPhone in the US: 5 checks
- eSIM only: US iPhones haven't had a physical SIM tray since the iPhone 14. Make sure your carrier supports eSIM.
- Buy the unlocked model (no carrier) so it works with any network in your country.
- Coverage: it works on 4G and 5G networks in over 200 countries. Only the 5G mmWave band is US-exclusive, and it isn't used in Latin America or Europe.
- Warranty: Apple's iPhone warranty may be limited to the country of purchase. Keep this in mind or consider AppleCare+.
- Taxes on arrival: you'll pay your country's import taxes. In Spain, for example, phones pay no duty but do pay 21% VAT. In Argentina, Decree 604/2026 sets a 400 USD allowance per shipment. For Mexico, see the details in this customs tax guide.

How much does the iPhone 18 Pro cost in the United States?
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at 1,199 USD, the 18 Pro Max at 1,299 USD and the foldable iPhone Duo at 1,999 USD. If you have it delivered to Delaware, you pay no sales tax.
Will an iPhone bought in the US work in my country?
Yes, on 4G and 5G networks in over 200 countries. Just note that it only supports eSIM, so your carrier must offer it. Always buy the unlocked version.
When is the iPhone Duo released?
Pre-orders open on 16 October 2026 and sales start on 23 October.
Why don't I pay sales tax when I buy with MDE?
Because our warehouse is in Delaware, one of the US states with no sales tax. The store calculates tax based on the delivery address, and in Delaware it's 0%.
Do I have to pay taxes when the iPhone arrives in my country?
Usually, yes. Each country charges its own import taxes (VAT, duties or fees) when the parcel comes in. Work out the total cost before buying to see how much you save.
What if the US store declines my card?
With our Buy for me service, we make the purchase for you: you pay us and we pay the store.
