Yes, always. The Department of Customs and Inland Revenue (DCIR) clears with ASYCUDA World and the Single Window portal; postal parcels are opened every morning at 8:00 with Customs and Biosecurity officers inspecting together. Declare the real purchase value: obvious undervaluation means retention and penalties that cost more than the tax. We prepare the declaration for you from your invoice.
Natural products need biosecurity permits; medicines a prescription; European beef, prohibited without exception. If the permit never arrives, or the item is outright prohibited, it gets seized. That is why it pays to ask us BEFORE buying any regulated product: we will tell you which paper it needs and how to get it.
Items for the recipient's exclusive personal use up to 10,000 VUV FOB (~US$84) enter free (tariff item X.23), with an anti-splitting rule: you cannot break one big purchase into many small parcels the same day. Above that: duty by product + 15% VAT. The courier may add a small clearance handling fee. Our quoting tool shows the real total before you buy.

Don\'t panic: most holds are about paperwork, not violations. The courier notifies you of the reason; it is almost always solved by providing the purchase invoice, the prescription or the missing permit. Write to us with your tracking number and we will manage the case with you until release.
Every shipment includes a tracking number. Follow it on the carrier\'s site or straight from your MDE dashboard, stage by stage: departure from our warehouse, transit, customs clearance and delivery in Vanuatu.
For normal purchases, just the invoice or receipt with the real value: we prepare the rest of the export paperwork and the declaration. Invoice with real FOB value; for natural products, the biosecurity permit before shipping.
Yes: under 10,000 VUV FOB the personal gift enters free; above that it is taxed like any shipment. The anti-splitting rule applies equally: one big gift split into three boxes the same day is aggregated and taxed together.
Not a good idea: the tariff expressly authorises the Director of Customs to accumulate several parcels to the same recipient and treat them as a single import. One well-made shipment beats three small ones.
They are opened every morning at 8:00 in the mail room, with Customs and Biosecurity inspecting together. You have 2 months from arrival to clear and collect; afterwards, the goods may be seized.
