1. Packaging materials: We use sturdy boxes and cushioning materials such as bubble wrap, kraft paper or packing peanuts.
2. Sealing: All boxes are wrapped in film and sealed with strong adhesive tape and labels.
3. Reusable boxes: We try to reuse boxes whenever possible to minimise our environmental footprint.
4. Repackaging: If you need to change the packaging of your goods, we are here to help.

Costs, times and shipping options

• Carriers: We work exclusively with trusted and guaranteed carriers such as DHL, UPS, TNT, FedEx and other local carriers in each country where we operate.
• Delivery addresses: You can ship to a home address or a carrier collection point.
• Shipping costs: Find out about shipping rates based on the weight, size of the parcel and the chosen service. You can calculate shipping costs using the transport quoter.
• Estimated delivery times:
  • Delivery times vary depending on the carrier and selected service.
  • On average, shipments from Europe to Mexico take between 5 and 10 business days.
• Shipping options:
  • Standard delivery: Economical but with longer delivery times.
  • Multi-stop delivery: Combination of couriers with a stopover at a network warehouse to maximise your savings, with longer delivery times.
  • Express delivery: More expensive but guarantees faster deliveries.
• Shipping insurance:
  • Basic insurance included. In the event of incidents, coverage will be 6.67/kg domestic and 10/kg international.
  • Optional premium insurance with full coverage based on the declared value of the parcel.

All shipments include a tracking number!

Restrictions and Regulations

• Prohibited items: Certain items cannot be sent to Mexico under any circumstances. These include:
  • Hazardous materials: Explosives, flammables, poisons, dangerous chemicals.
  • Illegal drugs and controlled substances: Including narcotics and certain prescription medications.
  • Weapons and ammunition: Including replicas and firearms parts.
  • Pornographic material: Any content considered obscene or pornographic.
  • Protected fauna and flora: Endangered species, live animals without the corresponding permits.
• Restricted items: These items can be sent to Mexico but require special permits or must comply with certain regulations:
  • Medications: Some medications require a medical prescription or an import permit from COFEPRIS.
  • Food and beverages: May require health permits from COFEPRIS or the Secretariat of Health; certain fresh foods are subject to restrictions.
  • Cosmetics and personal care products: Must comply with COFEPRIS health regulations.
  • Cultural materials: Historical artefacts, works of art, old books may require special permits.
• Content and value declaration:
  • Accurate description: The sender must provide a detailed description of the items in the package, including quantities and types.
  • Declared value: It is important to declare the actual value of the items. Undervaluing may result in fines and delays, while overvaluing may increase duties and taxes. You yourself will decide the declared value of your goods.

Customs procedures

• Package inspection: Packages entering Mexico are reviewed by the Mexican Customs Authority to verify compliance with regulations.
• Duties and taxes: Shipments up to USD 50 are exempt from IGI and VAT. When buying in Europe or the US through our network, you benefit from the reduced rates of trade agreements (EU-Mexico Global Agreement and USMCA), rather than the surcharge Mexico applies to parcels from countries without a trade agreement such as China. The general VAT rate is 16%. At MDE we prepare your proforma and documentation, and the quoter shows you the real cost upfront, with no surprises.
• Payment of duties: The recipient must pay the applicable duties and VAT, which can be done through the carrier or directly at customs.
• Additional documentation: Some products, such as food and medications, may require permits from COFEPRIS or the Secretariat of Health.
• Release procedures: Once taxes are paid and the necessary documentation is submitted, the package will be released for delivery.
• Package tracking: Use the tracking number provided to monitor the status of your shipment.
• Possible delays: Customs procedures can cause delays, especially if the package requires additional documentation or is subject to inspection.
