1. Packaging Materials: We use strong boxes and cushioning materials such as air bubbles, kraft paper or packing peanuts.
2. Sealing: All boxes are protected with film and sealed with strong adhesive tape and stickers.
3. Reusable boxes: We try to reuse boxes whenever we can to reduce our pollution footprint as much as possible.

Costs, times and shipping options

• Carriers: We only work with trusted and guaranteed carriers, such as DHL, UPS, TNT, Fedex and other locations in each country where we operate.
• Shipping addresses: You can send to the carrier's home or collection point.
• Shipping Costs: Find out about shipping rates depending on the weight, size of the package and the chosen service. You can calculate the shipping costs using the transportation quote.
• Estimated Deadlines:
  • Delivery times vary depending on the carrier and the service selected.
  • On average, shipments from Europe to Honduras take between 5 to 10 business days.
• Shipping Options:
  • Standard delivery: Economical but with longer delivery times.
  • Delivery with stopover: Combination of couriers with stopover at a warehouse in the network so that you save as much as possible, with longer delivery times.
  • Express delivery: More expensive but guarantees faster deliveries.
• Shipping Insurance:
  • Basic insurance included. In case of incidents, €6.67/kg domestic and €10/kg international will be covered.
  • Optional premium insurance with full coverage starting from the declared value of the package.

Restrictions and Regulations

• Package Review: All packages entering Honduras are reviewed by the Honduras Customs Administration to ensure they comply with the country's import regulations.
• Tariffs and Taxes:
  • Shipping with a declared value less than $500 is exempt from duties and taxes, as long as the package is intended for personal, non-commercial use.
  • For higher values, duties and taxes will apply that depend on the type of merchandise and its declared value.
  • Taxes include the Sales Tax (ISV), which is 15%, applied to the value of the product, shipping and associated costs.
• Payment of Tariffs: The recipient must pay the corresponding tariffs and ISV, which are managed through the carrier or at the Honduran customs office.
• Additional Documentation:
  • Some products, such as medicines, food, and electronics, may require additional permits from institutions such as the Secretariat of Health or the General Directorate of Standards and Industrial Technology.
• Release Procedures: Once taxes have been paid and the necessary documentation submitted, the package will be released by customs and delivered to the recipient.
• Package Tracking: Customers can track their package using the tracking number provided by the carrier.
• Potential Delays: Customs procedures, especially if additional documentation is required or if the package contains restricted products, may cause delivery delays.

Customs procedures

• Package inspection: Every package that enters Honduras is inspected by the DIAN (National Tax and Customs Directorate) to ensure compliance with the country's regulations.
• Applicable taxes: above the exempt limit, the ISV (sales tax) of 15% and, depending on the product, a tariff is applied; Merchandise of US origin has zero tariffs under CAFTA-DR. At MDE we prepare the documentation and the quote shows you the real cost before buying.
• Payment of tariffs: The recipient is responsible for paying tariffs and VAT, which is done through the carrier or directly with the DIAN.
• Additional documentation: Some products, such as medicines, food or electronics, may require permits from entities such as INVIMA or ICA.
• Release Procedures: After paying taxes and submitting the required documentation, the package will be released by the DIAN and delivered to the recipient.
• Package tracking: It is recommended to use the tracking number to monitor the status of the shipment, especially during customs procedures.
• Possible delays: Customs processes in Honduras can cause delays. It is advisable to be patient and comply with the requirements to avoid additional problems.
