Updated July 2026.
At MDE, we continue to innovate to make your shipments as flexible and efficient as possible. We are pleased to announce the launch of our new Multipackage functionality, designed to facilitate the management of your packages when they contain multiple boxes or packages. This update brings a number of key improvements to the way we handle your shipments, simplifying the process from package creation to final consolidation. What is multipack functionality?
The Multipack functionality allows a single shipment to contain multiple boxes, each with its own characteristics in terms of size, weight and content. This capacity is ideal for those who make large purchases or need to ship multiple items in a single batch, but packaged in separate packages.Key functionality changes
- Elimination of initial measurements and weight:
- You no longer need to enter measurements and weight when creating a package. This information is now determined during the check-in process at our warehouse, where our experts will record the exact details of each package.
- New multipack component:
- Instead of the traditional four text fields, you will now see an improved component that allows you to add or duplicate rows, making it easier to declare multiple packages within the same shipment. If you only have one bundle, just use a single row.
- Package management in tables:
- Within the package view, inbound packages will be displayed in a table allowing for clear and detailed visualization. Likewise, outbound packages, which can be edited before proceeding to payment, are efficiently managed during the consolidation or repackaging process, ensuring that each package is correctly labeled and prepared for shipment.
- Transport quote with multi-package support:
- Another important improvement is that our transportation quote now also supports the Multipackage functionality. This means you can get an accurate shipping cost estimate for shipments containing multiple packages, all in one process, optimizing both your time and costs.

What is multi-package shipping?
It is the functionality of MDE that allows you to send several boxes or packages in a single international shipment. Instead of sending each box separately, they travel together under the same shipment, optimizing the price per kilo and the customs procedure.
How is it different from consolidation?
The consolidation brings together several purchases in a single box; The multipack sends several boxes or packages together in the same shipment (ideal when not everything fits in one box or there are bulky items). You can combine both.
When is the multi-package suitable for me?
When you have several boxes, a pallet plus an envelope, bulky items or orders that do not fit in a single package. They are treated as a single shipment, with a single customs procedure.
Do I save money with the multipack?
Yes. By grouping the packages in one shipment, the price per kilo is optimized and you avoid paying for several procedures. Quote in advance to see the savings.
